New Discovery: Performance by Youth Club

Josh okungbaiye

Last Friday, we went to see Youth Club at the Concrete Jungle event organised by Gym Box in Hackney, London. In general, it was an EPIC night! They performed songs such as 'People', 'She’s a Dancer', 'Your Only Self' and many more!

We love discovering and experiencing new music and Youth Club are one of the bands that we can’t get enough of. Their music is a mixture of guitar chords, electronic keys and RnB vocals. The sound is really fun, bright and energetic. Their music reminds us of crazy summer vacations!

The atmosphere in the venue was fantastic! The energy in the venue was contagious and you couldn’t stand still even if you tried.  From listening to the Youth Club’s – Brother’s EP, every song on there is a HIT and we have no doubt in our mind that these guys are going to be huge!

Check them out at www.weareyouthclub.co.uk . Until next time! :-)

Such an EPIC night! :-)

Our Visit to the V&A Museum, London

Josh okungbaiye

Last weekend the weather was nice and sunny and it was the perfect day to go to the V&A Museum in South Kensington to get some inspiration for future designs of our products. We went to see the Staying Power exhibition. It is an exhibition that showcases the British Black Experience from the 1950s to the 1990s. It is also an exhibition to raise awareness of black Britons contribution to British culture and society. It was an amazing and educational experience. In addition, we saw works from every corner of the World and our minds were blown at the fact that all these pieces of art were made by actual human beings! We were particularly amazed by the hand crafted artefacts that were beautifully made and detailed in design.

If you are ever in the South Kensington area in London the V&A is definitely worth checking out! Check out the pictures below. :-)

A Labour of Love

Josh okungbaiye

All of our products have a story and we believe it is important for people to get a glimpse of the production process, because we feel it is something that is so easily forgotten and taken for granted.

Having an idea is the easy part, but turning it into a real thing is the hard part. It is something that can’t be done alone; sometimes it takes the help of other wonderful and creative people to bring it to life.  It is truly amazing when everyone unites around a common vision.

So much thought, hard work and workmanship goes into every product that we make and when we see a stranger on the bus, or the plane, or on the street wearing a High Spirit Bag we see it as a celebration and a true appreciation of our creativity and hard work. As people, sometimes we tend to forget where everything comes from and how they come into existence. We are so used to going to the supermarket or the shopping mall and suddenly seeing food and clothes on the shelves, readily available to be purchased. Sometimes we take for granted the effort behind all of this. It is important to try and stop and think about that product’s journey so you come to appreciate it that little bit more.

Producing a product is truly a labour of love because it takes effort for someone to create a product to satisfy the needs and wants of others, no matter how difficult or challenging it may be.

Our customers are like family to us so we will always have them in my hearts and minds in everything that we do!
